Yeah, I completely agree. Two years of living in the Netherlands - where every Dutch Person I know in their 20s or 30s speaks fluent English and at least one other language (if not two) has embarrassed me to the core. If only I knew Mandarin, my journalism efforts in China might have paid off better, though that would have required great foresight and a minimum of four years invested in full-time study. Now having a crack at Hindi/Urdu and may need to brush up my schoolboy French to get int the international job market. What's the second book all about then?
